Using Cloudflare Workers to Deploy Free Google Drive Directory Indexer in 5 Minutes (GoIndex)

GoIndex is a Google Drive directory indexing program deployed on Cloudflare Workers . It does not need to provide a server. It can directly list all the files on your Google Drive . Here is how it looks like:

This rapid deployment method is developed by Github user Donwa in his goindex project. Here are summarized steps I followed to get it  working.

Generate Workers Code

1 Generate Cloudflare Workers Code :
1.1 Get Google Auth Code
First visit: https://gdindex-code-builder.maple3142.net/ , click GET AUTH CODE , verify your Google account to get Auth code
Updated Note (December 20 , 2022): the above website is not working properly to get AUTH code since Google treats this kind of Rclone calls are invalid. 
The option is to use Linux VPN and install Rclone to get Auth code. Check troubleshooing part.

1.2 Get Google Drive Folder ID
By visiting the google drive folder, you will find the url from browser such as "https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/kjkfhieriiiweor023438". The folder id is the string behind "https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/"
Copy the string "kjkfhieriiiweor023438" into path id(default is root) . If you did not put anything, default is root folder.

You also can put password to protect your folder. Default password value is index. You can change to the one you like. Blank means no password. 
1.3 Build code
Click build and code will generate in the text box.

Another way to get code

1.Install rclone software locally
2.Follow https://rclone.org/drive/ bind a drive
3.Execute the commandrclone config file to find the file rclone.conf path
4.Open rclone.conf,find the configuration root_folder_id and refresh_token
5.Download index.js in https://github.com/donwa/goindex and fill in root and refresh_token

2 Install Code to a new workers in Cloudflare

Create a new workers as I described in my previous post: "Build a Reverse Proxy Using Cloudflare Workers"

Additional option is to use your own domain to access it, but I found it usually not that stable. It will be much stable to use workers.dev link. (https://gd.51sec.workers.dev/)
Create a sub domain record, and mapping a Workers route to this new created Workers program. You can check the steps in this post: "Set Up CloudFlare Workers to Use Your Own Domain"
I did create gd.51sec.org for this purpose, but it is not that stable as original Cloudflare domain: https://gd.51sec.workers.dev/

Note: This method is much easier and faster. But sometimes, system will get busy and it will be very slow.

Troubleshooting

To get refeshing token or authentication code, the original way is not working anymore thorough a website since Google tighted their policy. You might get following error message even when you using a installed rclone from your VPS:

According to this post this error message may be caused by using an old version of rclone. Try installing the latest version if you haven't already done that.

Here is an example to use latest Windows Rclone v1.60.1 to get authorize code.
